Cherokee Ridge began in 2005 after we purchased a larger piece of rolling land just north of Lafayette in Carencro, Louisiana and moved our small broodmare herd there. After acquiring additional acreage and moving into the farm house in 2006, we set about to establish the best place we could for our family and our horses.
The property now includes 170 acres, a 120’ by 200’ covered arena with 15 stalls, a 24 stall barn, round pens, walking wheels, a 7 stall foaling barn and all the other necessary buildings to house equipment, store hay and keep the farm running smoothly.
In addition to providing year round mare care, foaling services and a place to layup tired or recovering race horses, we board pleasure horses, house a local therapeutic riding organization and offer a quiet and peaceful venue for licensed therapists to practice equine assisted counseling (EAC).
