Have you ever dreamed of being a thoroughbred owner? For 2007, we offer a choice of six well-bred fillies (see below). We prefer racing fillies because they have a residual value after their racing career is over. For the past several years, winning fillies off the track have fetched premium prices.

CHEROKEE RIDGE now offers you the opportunity to be a part of the horseracing scene. You will go to the paddock before the races to watch your horse being saddled and hear the last minute instructions to your jockey. You will cheer your horse on from a private box in the grandstand and hopefully experience the thrill of watching your horse make a winning move on the clubhouse turn. Then you will join us and other owners in the winner’s circle. You will share in the winnings and all other financial returns, whether at the track or at the sales ring.

The horses we race are usually home-breds and raised at CHEROKEE RIDGE HORSE FARM under our careful oversight. CHEROKEE RIDGE has a small, but select, band of broodmares, most being stakes-winners or stakes-producers. We carefully choose stallions for our mares, with the hopes of another stakes-winner for the farm. By raising the foals at the farm, we then ensure that each one has the best nutrition, care and handling to allow it the best opportunity to reach its true potential at the races. CHEROKEE RIDGE is located within 3 miles of the Evangeline Downs Training Center where our young horses start their careers under our watchful eyes.

Expenses and winnings are pro-rated by percentage of ownership. We offer 20% shares and typically keep one or two shares ourselves.
